Dream Dictionary
Click here to see all the terms in the dictionaryThank you for using “Karla Mink’s Dream Dictionary.” In compiling this, I used standard and common items most people dream about, found in our day-to-day lives. If something you’d like to know about is missing, please email me and I’ll include it.
Dreams are “theorematic” or “allegorical.” Theorematic are direct dreams. The images can be taken literally, because they can correspond exactly to their own dream vision. Allegoric dreams signify something by means of another. Most dreams are allegoric, because most dreamers are not seers, prophetic, or intuitive. Messages come to them in forms of images, disjointed because the unconscious/subconscious dreamer has not been trained to fully comprehend or gather thoughts while in a sleep-state.
Because dreams are so disjointed, please understand these definitions are a very simple overview of very complex situations. For example:
BATH / BATHTUBS
General Meaning: Transformation When someone dreams of taking a bath, they have usually completed something . . . a task, a chore, or even finishing out the day. So, the ritual of cleaning off is symbolic. They have finished work, or have completed exercising. They are now ready to “wash away” the event, and bathing rids the body of the unpleasant funk accumulated during the task. They are clean, transformed from being dirty.
This is the SIMPLE definition. Toss into the mix . . . was the bath water hot, cold, tepid? Was there water in the bathtub? Or, was the bathtub filling up, or draining? Where was the bathtub – in a bathroom, in a field, was this a public bath? Were you bathing? Were you washing someone? Did you use a sponge? Was there someone giving you a bath?
As you can see, dreaming of a bathtub might be a little more detailed. I simply don’t have the space to “define” variations of the theme. This is my first caution . . . dream dictionaries are subjective.
The second caution is that no two dreams are ever alike. Like a snowflake . . . all are unique. You may have “recurring dreams” but these too are dissimilar. Finding the basic thread in dreams in what I’ve used as my criteria for compiling this dream dictionary.
Third, dreams never have a simple scenario. They are convoluted, symbolic and engage in timeless motions, emotions, expressions and nonsensical events.
To pick one symbol from a dream would be like plucking off one petal from a daisy and saying you have a completed flower. Take this dream dictionary, and all the rest of them, in stride in other words.
Every professional dream interpreter knows one thing: You can never interpret your own dream! Very similar to: never cutting your own hair . . . you want someone professional to do it!
Because people are too close to themselves, they can’t discern the forest from the trees! A dream interpreter can interpret your dream without outside influences of your day-to-day life. Take a few minutes to write your dream to me. I will be able to interpret your dream for as little as $2.75 (when you purchase the 12 Month Special at $32.99)
