General Meaning: Uncertainty
You have a dream and someone hands you a gift. You open it, and are sadly disappointed. It’s not what you wanted, perhaps even the contrary . . . something that makes no sense. Dreaming of a gift, either of giving a gift or receiving a gift can mean uncertainty. If you dream you’re the gift giver, you may be uncertain if the gift will be appreciated, wanted, or desired by the recipient. If you dream of receiving a gift, this is also a message of uncertainty. Should you be thankful, is this something you want, is this a gift . . . with strings attached – are you now obligated to that person? Also, play close attention to what was given as a gift. This can influence the interpretation of the dream. If you dream of money and the gift of money is given directly to you, does that mean someone is trying to buy your affections, or buy your trust or loyalty? Money is a generic gift, and holds no sentiment.
