General Meaning: Escape
This is one of the most common of dreams. There are variations of this theme, dreaming of flying on our own, dreaming of flying in an airplane, or dreaming of seeing the landscape beneath us, which indicates we are hovering overhead. The dream of Jacob’s Ladder in the Bible is interesting because he dreamed he saw the Angles coming and going from Earth to Heaven. If I were interpreting his dream, I would tell him that he put the ladder in the dream to have it make sense. Angles have wings, capable of the transverse of bounds between Heaven and Earth. Our dreams of flying are our need to escape the Earthly.
