General Meaning: Personal self
Clothing is a metaphor for the personal self . . . what (and who) you present to the outside world. Dreaming of clothes that are totally inappropriate for an event -- wearing a winter coat to the beach, for example -- might indicate the “prudish” nature of the dreamer, or, their fear of being exposed. On the contrary, dreaming of being naked is a common dream. Again, a variation that the dreamer feels exposed, vulnerable and afraid of being judged by society. Dreaming of “period” clothing, such as wearing a top hat and coat, might indicate your need for formality at this time in your life. Wearing tight-fitting clothing might also suggest being in an uncomfortable situation, and minor adjustments are needed. Colors of clothing are important as well. Purples, shaded of blue and red, indicate royalty and high class, while, a drab beige or taupe can indicate boredom, the mundane.
